The Thai lines up on the third row with O’Shea, Shahril and Aditama in pursuit
Tatchakorn Buasri (Honda Racing Thailand) will be starting from 8th on the grid and heading the charge for the Junior Talent Team in the Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship at Portimao. Following an encouraging 5th place finish in Race 2 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the Round 1 winner in prime position to be in the mix in tomorrow’s 16 lap race, the Thai will have his eyes set on another podium to add to his collection in 2022.
Eddie O’Shea (British Talent Team), fresh from a maiden podium in the Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship at Jerez last time out, is looking to carry that momentum forward and bag another strong result in what has been a very strong season for the Brit. Starting from 10th on the grid and only 4 tenths off pole in qualifying, expect the number 31 to be in the podium hunt tomorrow.
Danial Shahril, like team-mate O’Shea scored his best result of the season in Race 2 at Jerez. Finishing 10th, the Malaysian put in his strongest performance of the year, which he hoped to carry into Round 5 at Portimao. Finding improvements as the weekend progressed, Shahril found a 3-tenth of a second improvement in Q2 to put his Asia Talent Team Honda inside the Top 20 and from 20th on the grid will be aiming for his sixth points scoring ride of the season.
Arbi Aditama (Astra Honda Racing Team), showed well during the morning Q1 session, The Indonesian was only 1 second off the leading pace, but when the track warmed up in the afternoon Algarve heat he couldn’t improve on his time and slipped down to 24th as a result. In a class as competitive as the Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship, the rookie continues his adaptation to the class and grows in confidence with every passing weekend.
