The three riders of the Asia Talent Team hope to improve tomorrow and place in the points for the Moto3™ Junior World Championship race.
Official practice for the sixth round of the Moto3™ Junior World Championship offered modest results for the three Asia Talent Team riders. Kaito Toba, Yuta Date and Adam Norrodin all came to the demanding Circuito de Navarra with the handicap of having not previously raced at the track.
Yesterday’s two free practice sessions were devoted to learning the characteristics of the circuit, while preparing their bikes for Qualifying. Saturday saw two 40-minute sessions run to decide the grid for Sunday’s race. At first, none of the three were able to improve their times from Friday. During the interval between sessions, the technical team made several adjustments to the setting of all three bikes. These changes were generally positive, especially in the case of Date and Toba, unfortunately Norrodin was unable to improve his time.
With Qualifying completed, Yuta Date will line up in 15th spot after setting a time of 1’46.531, 1.8 seconds from Aron Canet’s pole time. Toba will begin in 19th (1’46.981) and Norrodin 24th (1’48.044).
Despite the somewhat lacking positions, the three riders are constantly evolving and growing which makes them optimistic for Sunday’s race, especially with several changes proposed to try in morning Warm Up. The aim of them all in Navarra will remain, as ever, to continue the clear trend shown in recent races and reduce the gap to the leading group.
Tomorrow’s race is scheduled to run over 17 laps which will be held at 14:00 Local Time. For those countries that do not have television coverage, the races can be followed on YouTube via this link.
