Ogden once again replaces Kunii as we gear up for the penultimate round of the season
With the dust settled after Jerez, it’s time for another round of the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championship to up the ante even further after the summer break. Once again, recently-crowned British Talent Cup winner Scott Ogden will be joining the ranks of the JTT, replacing the injured Yuki Kunii, who remains sidelined.
For Ogden, who joins the JTT ranks full time next season, it’s another chance to get some more experience under his belt before 2020. The Brit finished both races on his debut, which is no mean feat – and he’ll be looking to build on his performance at Albacete.
Haruki Noguchi, meanwhile, was the top JTT competitor at Jerez as the Japanese rider took home a sixth and an eighth-place finish, some good pay off for an impressive season of steady progress. At Albacete, he’ll want to keep that momentum and back it up with another top ten. Indonesian Mario Aji also took a top ten in Jerez as he came ninth in Race 2, and another good haul of points is on his agenda this time out.
Max Cook, however, will be gunning more for revenge. The Brit came home agonisingly close to the points in Jerez in both races, and Albacete gives him chance to right that and try and score this time around. Cook has been a consistent finisher with a good few points under his belt, and he’ll want more.
Finally, the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ World Championship continues to see Billi Van Eerde learning the ropes, and the Australian reigning Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup Champion was another who wasn’t too far off the points in Jerez – coming home 18th in a field of 31 finishers. He’ll want to try and bridge that gap and score at Albacete before we head for the season finale at Valencia.
There’s one single Moto3™ race this time out, and the lights go out at 13:00 (GMT +2) on Sunday 13th October.
