Junior Talent Team eager for Estoril

02 May 2024

From Italy to Portugal, it’s time for Round 2 at the classic Circuito do Estoril

After a solid opening round with a top ten result for Danial Shahril and first points for Amon Odaki, the Junior Talent Team is reset and reloaded for Round 2. This weekend it’s the iconic Circuito do Estoril that plays host to the FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship, with one race for the JuniorGP™ class on the agenda.
For Shahril, the goal will be clear: another top ten as a minimum, and more as he builds on his growing experience. Last season the Malaysian didn’t score at the venue but it was the very first round – and he’s done plenty more laps since then.
Odaki will also be confident after an impressive debut in the points, and want more of them in Portugal. It’s all new venues and a whole new challenge for the Japanese rider, so the focus is on learning, progressing and settling in so far – but after a start like Misano, he’s set his own benchmark.
Jakkreephat Phuettisan, meanwhile, heads in with a focus on cutting that gap to fellow rookie Odaki, and for both the debutants the first goal will be to qualify a little further up the order. After not finishing in Round 1 too, Thai rider Phuettisan will be looking to see the flag and gain as many laps as he can.
A new wildcard will also debut: Kiattisak Singhapong, fresh from the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup. After a solid outing for Zen Mitani in Round 1, the Thai rider will have a good benchmark as he makes his JuniorGP™ debut.
Finally, Arbi Aditama will continue his recovery and the Indonesian won’t be back in action just yet. As his teammates race on, tune in on Sunday for Round 2 of JuniorGP™ at 13:00 (UTC +1) for another awesome race on the Road to MotoGP™!
