The Thai rider keeps himself in the title hunt as O’Shea bags a second points scoring ride of the season
The Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia played host the Round 2 of the 2022 Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship and it was a day of highs and lows for the Junior Talent Team. Tatchakorn Buasri was again in the lead mix that resulted in a well-earned 5th in Race 1. Showing speed again in Race 2 and briefly leading, the Thai rider’s day would come to an unfortunate end on Lap 17 after a crash at the final corner.
Race 2 saw the track temperatues increase and after a crash in the opening race of the day, Eddie O’Shea bounced back to take another points scoring ride, his second of the year with a strong 12th.
Danial Shahril notched up three points-scoring races on the bounce as the Malaysian rookie backed up his 12th in Estoril with a fine ride to 13th in Race 1, while Shahril claimed P14 in Race 2. There was delight for fellow JTT rookie teammate Arbi Aditama, as the Indonesia rider put his name on the board with a maiden points finish with a 15th place in the second race of the day.
After three races in 2022, Buasri sits 4th in the Championship on 36 points, while O’Shea is the next best in 14th on 11 points, one place and two points ahead of Shahril. Aditama holds 22nd after his first point of the season.
The JTT now have some rest time as they prepare for the next round of the Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on the 9-12 of July.
