Round five of the FIM CEV Repsol sees the paddock head for Estoril
A legendary venue close to Portuguese capital Lisbon, the Circuito do Estoril is the host for the next round of the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championship – with the Asia Talent Team heading to the track with some top finishes taken in Valencia.
The track itself is just over 4 km long with nine right and four left-handed corners, including the infamous chicane – always a good place to overtake. A new addition to the calendar for 2017, the classic venue is sure to provide the perfect stage for another exciting round.
Last time out saw front row starts for Japanese rider Kazuki Masaki and Indonesian Andi Farid, as well as top five finishes for Masaki and compatriot Yuki Kunii on race day – a solid basis as the riders head into round five and gear up to discover a new circuit. Masaki, Kunii and Farid will all be pushing hard to better their results this time out – with the second half of the season now truly underway and important points on offer.
Ai Ogura will be back on track and looking to gain some traction – having missed the last races of the FIM CEV Repsol through injury – bringing the rider line up back up to four. Reigning Asia Talent Cup champion Somkiat Chantra, meanwhile, will remain sidelined as he recovers from his crash during practice in Barcelona.
There is one race for the Moto3™ field at Estoril, with the lights going out at 13:00 (GMT +2) on Sunday to begin 17 laps.
As always all of the action can be followed LIVE on FIM CEV Repsol YouTube channel.
