Danial Shahril motors to P8 in Aragon on a rain-hit Saturday for the Junior Talent Team

Blue skies turned grey on Saturday morning for Round 6 of the FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship at MotorLand Aragón with wet weather affecting the proceedings. However, Danial Shahril wouldn’t let the conditions rain on his parade as the Malaysian stormed through Q1 to P8 on the grid, the middle of row three. The Malaysian scores his second Top-10 qualifying result of the season, and strong qualifying will give the #57 great confidence going into the 14 lap JuniorGP™ race as well as the chance for a big result.
Arbi Aditama narrowly missed out on joining his JTT teammate in Q2, a late lap initially put the Indonesian in the all-important P3 in Q1, however his rivals’ late laps shuffled the #93 down to P5 as the chequered flag fell. Not the result the Astra Honda Racing Team rider would have wanted but Aditama will be starting Sunday’s race from P19 with an eye on some solid points.
Starting together, as they have done so often in 2024, Jakkreephat Phuettisan (#20) and Amon Odaki (#56) will go from P26 and P27 respectively in the Aragon encounter. The Honda Racing Thailand rider showed encouraging speed during Friday’s dry sessions, ending the day in P15 and with the conditions looking much improved for Sunday, the Thai will be aiming for his first points of the season. Odaki meanwhile continues to learn the MotorLand Aragón circuit and with wet conditions, the Japanese has persevered throughout and will be aiming to charge through the field, something he’s more than capable of doing.
With qualifying in the back pocket, it’s now time for the JTT to go racing at MotorLand Aragón for Round 6 of the FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship, lights out at 13:00 (UTC+2). See you there!
