Junior Talent Team back on track in Barcelona

The full line-up returns as Aditama rejoins the fold at the venue he reigned in 2023

The Junior Talent Team has already had a top five result in 2024 after Malaysian rider Danial Shahril impressed last time out at Estoril, taking his best ever qualifying and following it up on race day with his best finish yet in fifth. He’ll be reset and reloaded for Barcelona with a maiden podium in mind, but he’ll have even more competition from within the JTT ranks this time out.
Last season, Arbi Aditama became the first ever Indonesian winner in JuniorGP™ as he took victory in Catalonia, and after some time on the sidelines to recover from pre-season injury, he returns just in time to take on the venue again this season. As he looks to get back in the groove it may not be the win he’s aiming for right out the gate, but he’ll be looking to kickstart his campaign at the front.
Amon Odaki, meanwhile, will want points. After an impressive debut weekend that saw him score two in Race 2 at Misano, the Japanese rookie had a tough Estoril as he didn’t make the cut to head out and race following the tricky conditions in qualifying. But it’s all part of learning and he’s certainly no stranger to that, so Barcelona is the first opportunity for him to hit back.
Jakkreephat Phuettisan will also want to bounce back after he raced and finished but had a tougher time of it at Round 2. Another new venue and another chance to add to his experience is valuable in itself, but the Thai rider will also want to start cutting his gap to the front.
Tune in for Round 3 this weekend as the JTT takes on the iconic Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with two more races on the agenda for JuniorGP™ – the first at 11:00 (UTC+2) and the second at 14:00.
