O’Shea & Shahril lead the charge, with Aditama taking a notable first top ten of the season
The Junior Talent Team were right in the thick of the action once again at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto, fighting it out in a group battle for the rostrum in both races. The team’s top finish was a seventh in Race 1 for the returning Danial Shahril and a seventh in Race 2 for Eddie O’Shea, but the Brit was also within less than a second of the win as the Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship proved just as close as ever.
Race 1 saw O’Shea also leading the way for the team, and fighting for the podium, before an error saw the number 8 crash when attempting a move at the final Jorge Lorenzo corner, getting back on but outside the points. He made amends in Race 2, however, with no such dramas – right in the podium battle and ultimately crossing the line for that seventh place, nine tenths off the top step.
Meanwhile, Shahril came through in Race 1 to take seventh and complete an impressive return to action after having been sidelined from the first two rounds through injury. The Malaysian also took another solid finish in Race 2 too, taking a point in P15.
For Arbi Aditama, it was a landmark day at the office. The Indonesian just missed out on points in Race 1, but in the afternoon he took his first top ten of the season, and his best finish yet in P9. He was also, like O’Shea, within a second of victory as he got some justified rewards for his recent steps forward.
Tatchakorn Buasri had a tougher day at the office. The Thai rider took P12 in Race 1 for a solid start but didn’t quite make it into the points in the second outing, s he’ll be looking for more as he aims to bounce back in Portimao.
