Junior Talent Team vying for victory in Valencia

20 May 2022

Round 2 is about to get underway at the classic Circuit Ricardo Tormo

The 2022 Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship began in style for the Junior Talent Team as Tatchakorn Buasri took a career-first victory, putting the team back on top. Now it’s time to head for the classic Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia for Round 2, with two races on the cards this weekend and plenty more to play for.

Buasri, after fighting at the front throughout and then taking that victory, will be keen to repeat the feat or at the very least fight for the podium once again. With two chances to get a rostrum finish and the Thai rider impressing in both JuniorGP™ and the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup so far this season and on a crescendo in 2021, the signs are looking good.

Meanwhile, Eddie O’Shea also impressed in Estoril as the Brit took his first points in JuniorGP™, and not only that but first top ten in ninth. That’s an instant and impressive leap forward in 2022, and exactly the kind of speed and progress the British Talent Team rider will want to show once again in Valencia – and with even more track time given two races.

Danial Sharil also impressed and took P12, shooting up eight places from where he started to begin his JTT career in the points. He’ll be looking for more and some more progress as the field enjoy two races in Valencia, with the Malaysian keen to add to his total. Arbi Aditama, meanwhile, took 17th first time out and the aim as the team arrive in Cheste will be to cut that gap to the points scorers ahead. The Indonesian came out on top in the battle he was in at Estoril though, so there’s plenty already learned in 2022.

Tune in for Race 1 from the amphitheatre of the Circuit Ricardo Tormo on Sunday at 11:00 (GMT +2), before Race 2 at 14:00. Can the JTT rule Valencia once more?
