The third round of 2022 takes place at the iconic Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
The last round of the 2022 Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship saw Tatchakorn Buasri and Eddie O’Shea lead the charge for the Junior Talent Team at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, and the paddock now heads north to the legendary Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. As ever, there is plenty to play for as the Championship begins to get into the heart of the season.
After a sensational opening round of the year where he took his first win, Valencia proved a little more difficult for Tatchakorn Buasri. The Thai rider was on fine form and took a solid fifth in Race 1 and was in the mix again in Race 2, briefly leading before his race came to a premature end. But the signs are there that he will be a consistent podium challenger throughout the season – and he’ll be looking to back that up in Barcelona.
Eddie O’Shea, meanwhile, has turned a corner and made a big leap forward in 2022. With two strong point-scoring races in the previous three, the Brit is surfing on a wave of confidence. With a 12th place finish backing up his ninth at the opening round it’s the perfect time for the JTT to return to the scene of his best result in 2021, likely to give the number 31 another boost going into the weekend.
Danial Shahril also impressed again as he made it three points scoring rides in as many races, with the rookie steadily getting his campaign up and running. The Malaysian will be out in Barcelona aiming to continue the strong run of form. His fellow JTT rookie, Arbi Aditama, made steady progress throughout the Valencia weekend too and was rewarded with his first points of the season in Race 2, making a solid foundation for the Indonesian to build on further as the paddock heads for Barcelona.
Racing kicks off on Sunday at 11:00 (GMT+2) for the JuniorGP™ class, then the field heads back out for Race 2 at 14:00 with the JTT aiming for another strong weekend at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Tune in!
