Shahril and Aditama join the Thai rider in the points on a successful Saturday for the Junior Talent Team
It was a successful Saturday outing for the Junior Talent Team in the Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, as Tatchakorn Buasri recovered from P18 on the grid to finish inside the top 10 – with teammates Danial Shahril and Arbi Aditama also inside the top 15.
The Thai rider had a tricky couple of qualifying sessions on Friday afternoon on the Riviera di Rimini, but a fantastic outing in the 17-lap race saw Buasri climb his way up to P8 at the chequered flag, finishing just 5.2s shy of victory.
Joining Buasri in the points was both Shahril and Aditama. Shahril launched from P16 and was able to have a strong race on his first visit to Misano to pick up P13, seeing his points tally rise to 20 for the campaign. Equally as impressive was Aditama after the Indonesian claimed the final point in P15 having been embroiled in a tense fight, signalling his third point-scoring ride of the season.
Replacing injured Junior Talent Team regular Eddie O’Shea, Hamad al-Sahouti gained great experience in his maiden outing in the JuniorGP™ class. The Qatari star crossed the line in P24 to cap off a good weekend racing on this stage for the first time.
The Junior Talent Team will be back in action at MotorLand Aragon at the beginning of October for the penultimate round of the 2022 season.
